What is the opportunity?

The Senior Developer Middleware contributes to the technical design, development, enhancement and maintenance of the Pension Corporation's information systems and services. This position is responsible for the delivery of application server and middleware analysis, development, configuration and supports middleware administration. The position includes application development lifecycle support for specific Oracle application server, middleware, and WebLogic infrastructures and environments. This includes but is not limited to Oracle Portal and Oracle Internet Directory (OID) databases, Oracle Web Center Content Management (WCC) Oracle BI Publisher and Redwood Cronacle, Liferay portal, Oracle WebLogic server and Tomcat application server. The Senior Developer Middleware ensures integration with underlying operational systems and hosted applications. This position supports installation, configuration, code migration, and problem identification/resolution within the middleware environments.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • University degree in computer science or related discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR
  • Diploma in computer science or related discipline and 4 years of related experience; OR
  • Certificate in computer science or related discipline, or program completion, and 5 years of related experience; OR
  • an equivalent combination of education, training and/or 6 years of related experience.

The candidate must have recent practical computer Middleware Administrator experience that includes:

 3 years experience in:

  • supporting and utilizing Application Middleware backup and recovery tools, technologies and scripting;-installing, configuring and managing Application Middleware on Linux and Windows Operating Systems;  
  • aalyzing, planning and supporting the implementation of Application Middleware infrastructure projects and enhancements, in an environment that uses multiple instances for Development, Test and Production; utilizing change management/code migration practices for web applications in java and j2ee;
  • supporting and administering public and internal facing enterprise level Oracle Middleware Environment, including Apache HTTP server, Oracle Application Server, WebLogic Server, and OID/LDAP Integration in a n-tier architecture;

2 years experience in:

  • supporting and administering Oracle Portal;
  • supporting and administering a distributed n-tier Oracle Forms and Reports Server environment;
  • supporting and administering Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher;
  • utilizing WebLogic Scripting Tool; and
  • supporting Middleware Environment disaster recovery planning, testing and maintenance.
