The Information Technology Services (ITS) provides the IT services to the BC Pension Corporation including; IT Operations, Application Development & Maintenance, Quality and Release Management and Service Management. Services are delivered from a team of dedicated contributors who provide ongoing support and transformational services to facilitate the execution of the 12/21 corporate strategy. The Senior Developer Middleware contributes to the technical design, development, enhancement and maintenance of the Pension Corporation's information systems and services. This position is responsible for the delivery of application server and middleware analysis, development, configuration and administration. The position includes operational and user support for all Oracle application server, middleware, and Web Logic infrastructures and environments. This includes but is not limited to Oracle Portal and Oracle Internet Directory (OID) databases, Oracle Web Center Content Management (WCC) Oracle BI Publisher and Redwood Cronacle. The Senior Developer Middleware ensures integration with underlying operational systems and hosted applications. This position includes installation, configuration, code migration, and problem identification/resolution within the middleware environments.

Selection Criteria:
- University degree in computer science or related discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR
- diploma in computer science or related discipline and 4 years of related experience; OR
- certificate in computer science or related discipline, or program completion, and 5 years of related experience; OR
- an equivalent combination of education, training and/or 6 years of related experience.

The candidate must have recent practical computer Middleware Administrator experience that includes:

3 years' experience in:
- supporting and administering public and internal facing enterprise level Oracle Middleware Environment, including Apache HTTP server, Oracle Application Server, WebLogic Server, and OID/LDAP Integration in a n-tier architecture.
- supporting and utilizing Application Middleware backup and recovery tools, technologies and scripting;
- analyzing, planning and supporting the implementation of Application Middleware infrastructure projects and enhancements, in an environment that uses multiple instances for Development, Test and Production; utilizing change management/code migration practices for web applications in java and j2ee;
- installing, configuring and managing Application Middleware on Linux and Windows Operating Systems

2 years' experience in:
- supporting and administering Oracle Portal;
- supporting and administering a distributed n-tier Oracle Forms and Reports Server environment;
- supporting and administering Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher;
- utilizing WebLogic Scripting Tool;
- supporting Middleware Environment disaster recovery planning, testing and maintenance.
